Malaysia 'will not back down on Kashmir' fears of the trade war with India

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammad said Tuesday that he will not back down on Kashmir despite a boycott of Malaysian palm oil by Indian businessmen.

The delay in palm oil between the two countries could turn into a trade war," Mahathir Muhammad said. Malaysia is the world's second-largest producer of palm oil and is the largest exporter of palm oil, while India is its largest buyer.

Mahathir Muhammad said at the UN General Assembly last month that India had "attacked and captured Kashmir". While India says it is their internal matter, the Indian government has said that it is not a matter of the people of India.

Prime Minister Narender Modi's government ended the special constitutional status of India-controlled Kashmir on August 5 this year, against which Malaysia and Turkey had raised their voices against It.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammad has said he will review the impact of the boycott by The Annual Executive Organisation of Mumbai and then try to resolve the issue, according to news agency Reuters.

When the BBC contacted Mumbai's solvent executive, he said his organization had made the decision in view of the tension in relations between the two countries.

When asked if he had taken the decision on the Indian government's call, he refused to respond and said that he had taken the decision as a safety measure in response to the Indian government's move to Malaysia. What is it?
